Transponders

The unique code can then be used to unlock doors and open the car.
A similar technology was used in military aircraft during the World War 2 era to aid air traffic controllers in identifying them on radar. This type of chip is still in use in the aviation industry.
These systems were thought to be clone proof until recently. This was due to the fact that there were only 74 Quadrillion (74,000,000,000,000,000) possible codes for each transponder. However, the technology behind these chips has since been upgraded and they are not completely duplicate-proof. This has seen many auto locksmiths upgrade their skills by learning how to read, program, and write these more modern kinds.
Immobilisers
